Hi! This is Dalton. We are now in New Zealand! I got onto a plane on Tuesday the 21st to Houston. We arrived in the Houston airport at 6:00 pm, Houston time (7:00 pm Charleston time). Then we got onto a 15 hour flight to Auckland at 9:00 pm Houston time, 10:00 pm Charleston time, and almost missed the plane! After we got off of that flight, we got on a 20 minute flight to Whangarei(Fang-ger-ay) and then rode in a van to Nogal, the boat that we will sail on(we’re still in port right now). Right now it is the 9th, but it’s still the 8th for you guys because of the time change! I basically skipped a day of my life coming here, and when I come back to the US at the end of our year, I will regain a day!

Yesterday, We went to some beaches and a surf shop. It was so cool! There was a periwinkle farm on the rocks on the beaches. There were literally millions of periwinkles! We also went to a surf shop and I got a wetsuit. Then, we went to another beach. We had dinner at a place called The Cove, and I enjoyed a mini pizza. Rewind… For lunch, we went to an AMAZING sushi shop. It was so good!!

There is so much work and cleaning to do on the boat! We spend most of our days cleaning and fixing things. Hall and I are also working on a school project about New Zealand. Well, more tomorrow. Bye!
